A school system built the other way round.
Every school product in India assumes the school owns the parent. We started from the family instead — and then built the school system that a family's view has to sit on.
Edustians is a school and college system for Indian institutions — admissions, attendance, fees, examinations, communication, compliance — with a learning engine attached, and a parent account that works across every school a family's children attend.
That last part is the unusual one, and it is the reason the rest is built the way it is. Once you decide that a mother with children in three schools should have one login, you cannot treat a school as an island. You have to separate schools properly inside the database, bind a session to the address it arrived at, and be able to prove that School A can never see School B's children. All of that is load-bearing, and none of it can be retrofitted.
What we believe, and what it costs us
A child is never a label
There is no field anywhere in this system that marks a child as weak. There are topics that need practice. That is a schema decision, not a wording one — there is nowhere to put the label even if someone wanted to.
The database is the guarantee
Which rows a person can see is decided by row-level security, not by a where-clause in application code. A where-clause can be forgotten. This cannot.
We never hold your fee money
A parent's payment moves between the family and the school's own account. That closes an entire class of regulatory risk for both of us, and it costs us a revenue line other vendors take.
We say what is not built
Automatic timetable generation, live bus tracking, competitive-examination content. All asked for, none built. A school that buys on a promise does not renew.
Algorithms decide, models write
Anything a parent must have explained to them runs as an algorithm. The model drafts and explains, and a person reviews it before a child sees it.
Built to be left
Your data comes out in a standard format whenever you ask. A system you cannot leave is a system you should not join.
Edustians is new. We are not going to put a number of schools on this page until we have earned one, and when we do it will be the real number.
