Homework a parent can see without asking.
Set once by the teacher, in the hand of every parent that afternoon, submitted as a photograph or a file, and marked off in a list that shows who is quietly falling behind.
“We didn't get any homework today.”
A parent has no way to check, so they either trust it or start an argument. And a teacher has no easy way to see that the same four children have not submitted anything for three weeks — which is the signal that actually matters.
What Edustians does about it
Each of these is built and working today. Where something is not, the questions below say so plainly.
Set for a section in one action
Subject, description, due date and any worksheet attached. It reaches every parent and student in that section immediately.
Submitted from a phone
A photograph of the completed page is enough. Most Indian homes have a camera, not a scanner.
The pattern, not just today
Who has submitted, who has not, and who has stopped submitting. The last of those is the one worth a phone call.
Attached to the child, not to a chat
Work submitted stays on the student's record, so a new teacher next term can see the year rather than start blind.
The questions worth asking a vendor
Including the ones where our answer is no. A school that buys on a promise and finds a gap does not renew.
- Does a student need their own account?
- Not for primary — a parent can submit on their behalf. From middle school, students have their own sign-in with a Student ID rather than an email address.
- Is homework marked in the system?
- It can be acknowledged and commented on. Full marking with rubrics is not built; homework here is about visibility and habit, and we would rather do that well than do marking badly.
